A Warrior's Burden: Book One of Saga of the Known Lands
By Jacob Peppers

Once known as Prince Bernard, Cutter now lives a quiet life in Brighton, protecting the child he was sworn to all those years ago. But his past is about to catch up with him.

Cutter once led an army in the Fey War, battling nightmarish creatures and the stuff of myth. Renowned for his strength, he became feared by his own people as much as his enemies, earning the names Kingslayer and the Crimson Prince. When the war ended, he had no choice but to leave.

Brighton might be a desolate wilderness, but the small town is safe enough for him to raise the child he protects. Right on the outskirts of the Known Lands, he does all he can to brave the harsh conditions to make sure they both survive.

But his past soon catches up with him, led by the brother he once betrayed. Now, an army is marching to his door, and he’ll have to stand and fight to protect his new home and the child he’s grown to love as his own.

She’ll have no choice but to form an alliance with one of her rivals – Raihn.

Everything about him is dangerous; he’s a ruthless vampire and an enemy to her father’s crown. But even staring into the eyes of a killer, Oraya is drawn to him.

As the War for the House of Night stirs, Oraya discovers hidden secrets about her home, and Raihn might just understand her better than anyone.

Can she survive the tournament and make it home? Or will her alliance with an enemy be her downfall?
